This summer I was approached by Fifty Three and Skillshare about an opportunity to create a free course on data visualization using Paper (the app). If you aren't familiar with Skillshare, it is an online learning community for creators. They have a ton of great classes on any topic you can think of, taught by experts in a field, with spaces for their community of students to post projects and share ideas. I had taken a few classes on Skillshare, and was thrilled to have an opportunity to develop a course in an area where Skillshare is trying to expand: creativity in business.

Just about four weeks have passed since I left my job at Deloitte. I haven't accomplished quite as much as I'd hoped, but life happens and you just do your best to keep moving forward. My first endeavor as founder of Catherine Madden LLC was a job I got through Kelvy Bird and her partnership, dPict. Kelvy saw me do some digital recording at the IFVP conference, and when the MIT Age Lab asked her to provide the same sort of service at their annual member meeting, she thought I would be a great fit.
