Tapestry 2017 Recap
/Last week I attended Tapestry, a fantastic conference that brings together all kinds of data storytellers to share their knowledge. In 2016 I gave a short story presentation on the power of drawing in visual storytelling, which you can watch on the conference archive page. You can also read a recap of the experience and check out my sketchnotes in another blog post.
This year I tried to do something a bit different. Rather than work in the same one-page format for each presentation, I thought of it like a grid that could be woven together into it's own tapestry (get it?).
I learned a ton from all the different speakers, and think that you might be able to learn a few things as well from my sketchnotes. You can download a PDF on slideshare, or browse through the gallery of images below.
I really appreciate the work that the team from Tableau Public puts in each year to making sure this event has a great lineup of speakers, attendees, and atmosphere. Can't wait until next year!
I almost forgot- here's my tapestry of sketchnotes from the entire day. I'm thinking about printing them as posters, let me know if you'd be interested in one!
